How to Train Tactics and Calculation

Today, I will discuss tactics (and calculation) a second time.

Really, tactics requires a lot of discipline. Simply put, if you do a lot of puzzles and puzzle rush, you will get better (at least at your level).

However, to maximize your improvement, it is important to train correctly. You may find it helpful to put the position on a real chessboard, which often makes you think about the position more carefully.

Where to find puzzles

Now, we reach the second question, which is "Where should I find puzzles?" Well, there are many different resources.

Some that I can recommend are:

- Chess.com tactics trainer, puzzle rush, and puzzle battle - they're all good for either puzzle recognition (as mentioned in the previous post, I believe that survival is the most useful because it gives you unlimited time to think about a puzzle and reach the correct answer)

- Lichess puzzles

- Woodpecker Method by Axel Bachmann, you can find this book on Chessable (which is really good for drilling) or in paper copy.

- Middlegame Combinations - recommended by @ellerylikesdog

- The Complete Book of Chess Strategy (tactics section) by Silman - recommended by @Snow_Globe24

Just remember not to rush, take your time on each move and consider your and your opponent's options before making your move. If you can do this logically and efficiently, your performance will skyrocket.
