Chess ladder rules

Tough and Social group members must participate in the ladder. Players can seek exemption at the admins discretion.
Initial ladder placings will be based on ratings.
New members are automatically placed behind the lowest ranked player in their rating group. Ratings are grouped in blocks of 200: 800~999; 1000~1199 etc
Challenges can only be made to players ranked a maximum of three places above. For example the highest a person ranked twelfth can challenge is ninth.
Challenges are to be made by posting in the forum. A message must also be sent to the person challenged.
Challenges must be accepted.
When making a challenge, play as a random colour, and have a time control of two days.
A person can only play one challenge match at a time.
No agreement on a challenge can be made until both players are not involved in any ladder matches.
Winners and losers exchange places.
If a game is drawn, then players remain in the same position prior to the challenge.
Players agree between themselves whether games are rated or unrated. If this cannot be agreed, then the higher ranking player decides.
Winning players must inform Avie of the result.
Winning players must post the game in the ladder forum.
