This is a private club where you may discuss contentious topics not allowed to be discussed on the main site forums. We aim for a higher culture of conversation. This ambition is manifest in our inner Rules and Code of Conduct (application requirements are available at the bottom).
"The term *acropolis* means *high city* in Greek and can refer to one of many natural strongholds constructed on rocky elevated ground in Greece, but the Acropolis of Athens is the best known." The Acropolis of Athens, as seen from the Hill of the Muses, is home to the Parthenon. The famed temple is devoted to Athena, who like Minerva, is a goddess of wisdom and warfare.
Just like the Roman Curia or Senate was a Parliament atop the Capitoline Hill, the Congress rests on a Capitol Hill, here we continue the great conversation on elevated grounds striving for the better angels of our nature.
You must be 18+ years of age to be eligible for application. You must be a member of chess.com for 5+ months to apply. You must be able to communicate in English. Rare exceptions to our criteria may be considered in extraordinary cases from beyond the chess site itself. Exceptions are decided by owners of the club when personally bringing people in.
