Clubs

The purpose of GCMS Chess Club is to introduce new players to the strategic game of chess while developing players with more experience to more advanced levels thus giving all players an opportunity to excel in the game of chess and academics. Chess is a fun and competitive way to cultivate higher-order thinking skills such as the ability to visualize, analyze, and think critically. Through chess, our students will improve their ability to focus on tasks. 

Membership is open to any GCMS student in grades 6-8 but any faculty member is welcome to join us for a game of chess.
