Thanks for making that forum topic. Anyhow…. (This took too long) : ) 10 plus hours. ((It would be greatly appreciated if you left a comment.)) {This has been changed, completed, and more songs/artists added from that first post on OD} (Also, sorry to any who get offended with all the different labels of genres to each band, first of, those labels are generalizations, not true for each song or the past/current outlook of the band. Second, they came from Google search. (Some exceptions)) Third, those types of specifics exist to help any looking for a specific type of way of going about in that genre. It is not meant in any way to offend or cut off any artist from a specific genre. Example, Colter Wall is labeled as Outlaw Country, while White Buffalo is labeled as Cowpunk(Type of country). Both country artists, yet different ways of presenting country.) Started, 1/20/2019 Completed, 1/26/2019 (Disclaimer notice, not all these songs are great, there are some mediocre artist and songs in here, also personally cut out any personal bias and opinion on what song should be on here or not, it was all based on whether or not the song was approved by set standards. After all, it’s the best/mediocre from a harrowing era of music. As well I am ignorant to how some of these bands are nowadays and only portray them as how they were thought up as through the display of that one song. Also, my music knowledge is the basics.) Lol. ;) Also could use a writing course, by the way. So please do ignore any spelling or sentence structure errors. It’s about the music after all! Current (at least roughly) song/artist count; 157. Current Honorable Mentions (Artists only.) count; 30. Hey! Welcome, to a compilation of modern songs and artists list. (Some exceptions applied) Sorry for such a long list, a very emotional and personal and dearly loved subject! Hopefully you take the time to review each artist and song! Lots of varying genres! Enjoy! Introduction. The main idea of this forum topic is to represent the many talented artists out there that record around this day and age. Another idea of this post’s conception is to compile a list of artists and songs from the early, to mid 2000and teen years. (Some exception applied.) Which are to represent decent artists and songs in the defense of decent, innovated, or meaningful music is still being made. Many here who hear the popular songs on the radio may think of those vulgar and generally horrible music to be the only tunes to be made out there, to be the rule of what goes in the music industry. When that simply is not true, and this list is to provide sources for all sorts of debate on the subject! These artist and the songs pared with them here, is just an example, please do not generalize the artist based on just the song mentioned here. Explore them more if you like. Also, some of the artists in here may not be meaningful anymore or even be popular, yet the song posted is in terms of the bands former self, such as the case with Eminem, Black Eyed Peas, and Maroon 5. Which the reason for posting these artist and their song is based on these qualifications. 1, has to be from 2007 and above in activity of the last album produced. (Which the parenthesized year is the last album publicly released, not the year of the song that was released.) 2, the song be generally void of anything vulgar, at least in terms of overall song meaning. 3, that no artist is repeated. Also, also, the numbers on the side are the years of the latest released album or in some exceptions with tours being counted for the bands. Also, also, also,…? Not sure what was going here wrote this in a dox over the course of about 3 days. On and off as well. Although did remember what that was for. Some of these songs in the list may be from an artist that might be their only ‘good’ song rather in terms of meaningful content, sound, or innovation. Although, in terms, many artists in the past have many nonsensical, just dance songs, or whatnot are forgotten, sometimes all their songs save one, has been remembered for some reason, probably because it appealed to ageing youth of then, which now they have a better understanding of the meaning. (Hopefully you can understand.) A list of genres to help with navigation of songs that appeal to more of your liking. Each genre listed will have a number which corresponds to a song on the list, with that song (hopefully) be of that genre. Also the genres would be made into the bands generalization of the specific genre. For example, 1000mods, 28, Stoner Rock, yet will be placed under the Rock category, just labeled as Rock. Although, it is advised that you broaden your song listening experience. After all a genre is type of style to music, not a divide to the great meaning a song can have. That is universal to whatever that may accompany the message. (However not all songs here have any great meaning, some are just fun to listen to, while others are just to represent the fact of decent types and various styles are still being played with today.) Also for a mention, is Old World Radio 2, a YouTube Live ‘Radio’ channel, and others of the like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQHwzgxK-48 Anyhow,… Truly a shame. Still a sad day for civil and knowledgeable humanity. May these be known and used! Spread the music! Also, it would be greatly appreciated if this forum became pinned! A petition perhaps? Thanks. TC. Took this way over board, to many of the same type of sounding artists. Do you agree? Would you have wanted more? For Chess.com Page in OD (Open Discussion) Forums, “Is the Beatles a high point in Music?” This is why OD is a neat concept, can the members make it truly great by broadening the horizon of concepts to be DISCCUSED about? Rather than to just argue about something. For example, the intricacies of a musical score, the discussion of a songs lyric score (what to change, what was liked.) Which song you thought was best, and why? Or that you discovered a new band and want to discuss about them. Anyhow, nothing wrong, just would be great. Thanks for coming, good day/night/morning. CM. A bit of a bonus to any who made it down this far. Also a note for later, (Whenever that might be.) probably should have revised and reedit this forum a bit more. For better results. However, it was, really just for you. The music is your choice of enlightenment.
