🧑‍🤝‍🧑 A. Players
All players must sign up for their preferred team in the signup forum https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/signup-form
Each player should be available to play one game per week, ideally with at least 30 minutes free on Saturday or Sunday for six consecutive weeks (exceptions may apply).
After each game, players must report their results to their team captain via chess.com private message
♟️ B. Games
Time control: 10 minutes + 5 seconds increment (10+5).
Once pairings are announced, players must challenge their opponent using the correct color (as listed in the pairings) at the scheduled time (Saturday or Sunday).
If needed, games may be rescheduled during the week, but must be completed before the next round begins.
Failure to appear at the agreed time or rescheduled slot will result in a forfeit loss for the absent player.
🛡️ C. Teams
Each team will consist of:
A Captain
A Sub-Captain
Players from Board 3 to Board 10 (depending on team size)
Substitutes, who may be rotated in as needed
Scoring system:
3 points for a team win
1 point for a tie
0 points for a loss
📅 D. Scheduling
Games will be played weekly on Saturdays or Sundays for six consecutive weeks.
Players must agree on a time in the designated scheduling forum or arrange a weekday game.
If both players fail to agree on a time:
If neither player responds or makes an effort, the result is a forfeit draw.
If one player is responsive and the other is not, the unresponsive player will receive a forfeit loss.
🧑‍✈️ E. Captains & Sub-Captains
Captains must submit match results by Friday at 11:59 PM GMT, the day before the next round. Failure to do so will result in a 1-point deduction from the team’s final score.
Sub-Captains are responsible for managing substitutes and must submit the weekly roster to the tournament organizer by Friday evening.
⚖️ F. Tiebreaks
If two or more teams finish the league with the same number of points, the following tiebreak criteria will be applied in order:
Head-to-head result between tied teams
Total individual board wins across all rounds
Captain’s punctuality in submitting results (fewer missed deadlines)
Coin toss or random draw, if all else is equal
🧩 G. Fair Play & Disputes
Fair Play Policy:
All games must be played without assistance from engines, other players, or external tools.
Players found violating fair play rules will be removed from the tournament and their games forfeited.
All suspected cheaters will be reported to Chess.com
Dispute Resolution:
Any disputes must be reported to the tournament organizer within 48 hours of the incident.
Captains should attempt to resolve minor issues between teams before escalating.
The organizer’s decision is final and will be based on available evidence, fairness, and tournament integrity
