This game is played by a master level player, with takeback moves, so when bad moves were made, we rewound to the mistake to play it with the better moves. It is an example of how a chess game should be played. There are no "HOPE" that a person doesn't notice your sneak attack. Because if we didn't notice it, we went back and re-did the move. Instead, it is played with the understanding that your opponent already knows what you are going to do, so do something that "FORCES" their next move. The idea is to "CONTROL" your opponent, and not to merely play your own moves while he plays his own moves and hope that you get your goal first before he does. DON'T MISSUNDERSTAND ME! It is a race to the finish, and you do have to play your own game and he plays his, and the one who accomplishes the goal first wins. However it is not "MERELY" that race mentality. It is like race-car driving where at the same time as racing, you are simultaneously trying to run your opponent off the road by smashing your car into his and cutting in front of him, or racing on foot in a way that you are smashing him with your elbow and triping him up at the same time as racing.

This is a forced mate from one of my recent games. I have to admit he/she was rated quite a bit lower than me. Check it out. Let me know if you get it or not on the first try!

Really I was the one making all the mistakes in this game but was able to find a way to win in the very end as you saw. It is hard for me to remember exactly what I was thinking the whole game, or maybe I just wasn't thinking!!

This occurred in one of my live games recently and thought it would make a good puzzle. I was down in material and after the first move of this puzzle is when he resigned. Give me some feedback please.

For some reason I can't write in a subject. I played three games with a buy in the first round. In the game I lost, I missed the discovered check and moved my bishop, but since I touched that bishop and it could block the check I was forced to give it up. She was rated about 1600 and I didn't see any reason why I couldn't beat her. The lesson for me in that game is to keep my cool and keep my head in the game!! The next two games I won and my opponents were rated about 1200 and about 1400. I am still provisional so my rating has been jumping around quite a bit but I think I am close to 1500 right now.
