The Canadian National Championships is a new provincial team competition being organized on Chess.com, bringing together teams from provinces and territories across Canada.
Each province will be represented by an official team competing in both Daily Chess and Vote Chess matches throughout the season. The Daily Chess championship will feature two divisions with promotion and relegation, while the Vote Chess championship will bring all provinces together in a single round-robin competition.
The inaugural season begins June 6, 2026, with rounds starting every second Saturday.
Provincial teams currently being organized include teams representing provinces such as Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, Alberta, and more. Each province may enter one official team.
If you are part of a Canadian provincial club and are interested in helping organize or represent your province, you are welcome to get involved.
