I started this group because GT8810 and I started playing and thought it'd be great to reach out to other people around here. To my surprise, there was no club on chess.com for Greater Lafayette. Once on r/lafayette, someone said Lafayette is small enough that if you don't find the community, you ARE the community. So, I thought why not start a local club and see where it goes? My name is Dan and I've lived in the area for about 10 years now. I like to play 10m rapid games mostly, and I'm rated around 900.
