This is an amazing game and position to study, especially after move 24 and onwards. Notice Topalov's overloaded pieces and the subtle threats of forks and double attacks which prevents Topalov from being able to capture Kasparov's otherwise seemingly hanging pieces.
This is a situation where the double attack isn't so obvious. You have to engineer the conditions for a double attack. Can you see what needs to be done? White to move. I thought that I would advance the knight to b6 creating a threat of mate, which cannot be stopped by the bishop but this turned out to be wrong because it isn't a forcing move and black interrupts with a check on e8.
This position is from Garry Kasparov's Masterclass. The theme of study is a 'double attack'. Kasparov is black who is next to move? Do you see it?
