Hey all, this opening is for those of you who don't really want explosive games with tactical shots everywhere. Its more tame, and more solid, but it can definitely get tactical. I personally love this opening for must win/draw situations.
First I will cover the slav, Then the queens gambit declined, and then the Queens Gambit accepted. After that I will cover the much more obscure Marshall defense.
So here is the Queens Gambit declined. Once again, its pretty straightforward, which is a common theme in the Queens Gambit. You will almost always have a game where you just simply develop.
and Finally the Queens Gambit Accepted. This line is by far the easiest to play for white. It is quite simple, because you only have to develop all your pieces. White maintains a strong initiative throughout the game, and as long as he doesn't mess it up, he should win. Also there is a trap that comes up quite a bit, so I will toss that in too.
And finally, the obscure Marshall Defense. This came up in a tournament, and I ended up drawing, but only because I let my initiative go. Be sure to maintain it, and you should have no problem winning :)
