Just a reminder that the chess club that meets at MGM Restaurant on Wednesdays starting at 4pm. I was told there were around 9 people last week.

The Oceanside Chess Club is meeting every Saturday, 11am to 3pm, at St. Mark's Church, located 138 Hoylake Road West, Qualicum Beach. There is plenty of space and fun to be had. On June 29, 2024, the Oceanside Chess Club will be hosting the First Annual Oceanside Rapid tournament. The event will be held at the St. Marks Church, located 138 Hoylake Road West, Qualicum Beach. The format will be a 6-round unrated Swiss system. The time control will be 20 minutes with a 5 second increment. Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the day. Doors open at 9 a.m., and the tournament will conclude at 5 p.m. with the awards ceremony. Prizes will be determined by attendance for the first, second, third, and best-performing junior (14 and under). Entrance is $20 per player.
