t's the annual Portishead Christmas chess tournament again! Last year was the first year it was organised, so it has now become an official tradition.... Not rated, so everyone can play. Unfortunately, Swiss tournaments can only be done as live tournaments. So as previous tournaments, small groups and 1 day/move. Group winners go to the finals. And this year, there are Santa hats instead of medals to win!  https://www.chess.com/tournament/portishead-xmas-2024-daily-chess-tournament

Our first "official" online club tournament is now open for registration! The games will start on Saturday 4th Nov, and will have the format of 24hrs/move (therefore, it's unrated. So no reason to not sign up). More information and to sign up: "Eternal Glory 2023" is now open for registration: https://www.chess.com/tournament/eternal-glory-2023

Hi all, We now have 12 club members, which seems a nice number to do a first "real" online club tournament (I dont want to take away from ChessEg who won the trial run, but 12(+?) players will make it a bit more official. My proposal is: - start in November - daily tournament with 3 days/move max time - 4 groups of 3, semi-final, final (4 games max). I thought this may work better than agreeing a timeslot when everyone plays 4 10min games in a row, but i am open to setting that up as well if people prefer this. Any thoughts, comments, and suggestions welcome!

Thanks for joining! Please be patient for now while I am working out how everything works. Once I do, I'll set up a tournament or such. In the mean time, challenge other members!
