Team Utah is a club for Utah based chess players or those with significant ties to the area.
To be approved to join the club, I look for:1. Location2. Time on chess.com3. Identifying information in the message.
I get requests for players with flags from other countries, no name, limited history, no location, no message, no other clubs joined, etc. I am generally looking for a reason to include someone in the group but if there is no reason other than a request, I won't approve the request.

Good afternoon everyone! After much deliberation we have decided to transition the club to an online only club starting this week. This means we will no longer hold in person meetings. We will hold online tournaments and club v. club matches and we invite the players within the club to play some games with one another! If you have any questions you can reach out to me (Chazio) and I can answer them! Thank you for your understanding and we are excited for this new chapter in the clubs journey!

Just wondering if there is any interest in doing an inter-high school team chess league, sort of like the Bundesliga in Europe. I know that at the very least Clearfield could.

Unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts there will be no meetings today through October 24th. Meetings will resume on November 7th. In the mean while, I recommend you check out Danny's club, the City Creek Chess Club. They meet in the kneaders in City Creek mall every Friday from 7pm - 9pm.

Starting this Saturday, April 12th 2025, the Red Rooks Chess Club (St George, Utah) will be meeting for OTB play at the Santa Clara Library. We are no longer meeting at the St. George Library on Saturdays.
Our new schedule is:
Every Thursday from 4-7pm at the Santa Clara Library
Every Saturday except the last Saturday of the month from 2:30-5:30pm at the Santa Clara Library
We'll see you this Saturday at the Santa Clara Library!
