My name is Cengiz Hasman (45 years old) and I am a UK National Master but live in Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus and I speak fluent English (with a British accent) and Turkish. After I have found out the goal of my student, I will then construct the lessons accordingly. It might be concentrating on vital middlegame positions, must-know endgames and/or choosing a suitable opening repertoire if required. I recommend daily tactic solving and have a simple but effective suggestion in this regard. I use skype and zoom as well as Houdini and the chess.com analysis board. I have a Fide rating of 2101. I have had good results against many Titled players but now work as a Chess Coach in Cyprus. I have played in the London League on top boards, 4NCL and the North Circular Chess League for Wood Green. In fact, Wood Green won this League a few times after I became captain. I have contributed a lot to my teams in Cyprus winning 1st Division League Titles. I have attended a Coaching Development Course by IM Vladimir Grabinsky, a well known coach. One of my students, an unrated 11 year old achieved a 1700+ elo performance in a tournament in Serbia. King's Indian defense is a versatile weapon in the hands of a skilled player playing against white. The game is full of dynamic power play of strategies, themes and tactics on both sides. It is very popular at grand master levels and many world champions have tried it. The vast scope of this opening has resulted in many memorable games in the history. We are starting the classical variation of the KID. Everyone should know the initial few moves and key position by heart. For every chess player, opening repertoires of various openings are necessary. Cursory introduction of any opening is not sufficient for a serious chess player. So I am starting extensive repertoires of various openings. We shall start from the King's Indian Defense. Let us see the basic structure of the KID. But is this structure exclusive to pure King's Indian Defense(KID)? No sirs! The very great advantage of studying KID is that this basic structure and then automatically the positional tactics and strategies are generally applicable to the openings where these structures are recurring. And while studying KID we will be getting ourselves with these many openings. Let us enlist at least some of these main openings. Pirc Defense Benoni and variants. London system where black respond by playing g6 Grunfeld Defense. And combination of various openings or transposing to this structure from a routine opening where generally it is not played. Reverse King's Indian Defense What is good for black, should be good for white also! And that too with additional one tempo! So even though you are playing black, you can suddenly face with the King's Indian Attack system. Most of the times the variations and themes are quite different than KID. we still may find common themes and strategies in both these. Again King's Indian Attack system can be utilized in many openings. You may face this type of system in Reti opening, french defense, catalan, Nimzo larsan attack, etc. So it is pertinent that we also should have some knowledge about facing these openings as Reverse King's Indian. So with this preamble we will start the KID basic moves and list of main variations in the next part. Also we will start discussion on one of the main variations. Right from basic moves for that variations with opening traps if any, themes and strategies also will be covered. In this way we will cover most commonly played variations of KID.
