CLUB ADVERTISEMENTS=BAD
Hello! We may be in a little bit of trouble! There might be an advertising HOT SPOT near you!
I am here to share a little bit of my story with you!
Who here knows @Coach-Bill? Some of you? A little? Not much?
Well, if I were you I would get to know him, because he is a legend! He has been working hard with chess.com to destroy all little messages that look like this: "Join my club, here is the link: [Removed]" I am doing some to help him with this mess and I have been rewarded greatly! Coach-bill now hosts a free Simultaneous exhibition every week for my club and he has been working with me for many a day now.
I am here to tell you that there are those that will post a forum in this club and say: "Join this club, we have lots of vote chess matches and live tournaments" When you see this and are not an admin to delete it, please DO NOT JOIN IT! That is only encouraging the unwelcome club promotion.
Here is what to do when you arrive in a situation where the admins are not online and cannot delete the forum and mute/ban the member:
1. Contact member support or report the user {Be sure to have proof of the fault so chess.com can do something about it} Contact chess.com
2. block the user (You most likely do not want to receive messages from this user in the future asking you to join the club)
3. Do NOT make a forum saying to report the person (Chess.com has been drowned in messages since COVID-19 started and we don't need to make it worse) one report is enough, if you have the proof of the issue (ie; a screenshot)
Thanks for reading! And have a good day!
