Welcome to the UofG PAC Chess Club! Our Reading Week tournament will start at 4pm EST. Registration on this page will open 1 hour before that - you still need to register on this page, even if you have registered through the Google Form. The tournament format is a Swiss-system tournament with 5 rounds - you are guaranteed to play in all 5 rounds of the tournament (unless we have an odd number of registrations, in which case 5 players will receive 1 bye round). The time control is 10|0. The next round will start ~5 seconds after the last game of the previous round is completed; if your game finishes early, stay near your computer so that you're ready when the next round starts! Matchups in the next round are decided by the Swiss system algorithm - winners play winners and losers play losers, and an effort is made by the algorithm to ensure that players do not play with the same color pieces more than twice in a row. Please ensure you are abiding by all of Chess.com's policies, including the fair play policy. We will be looking out for cheating, and we reserve the right to take disciplinary action including but not limited to a report to Chess.com and exclusion from future UofG PAC events.
