+0 ELO for winning on time against closed accounts? (Daily)

So recently I played a game against somebody who got banned for abuse. This was their first daily game and their rating was 1200 while mine was 1205. Eventually, his account got banned and I won on time. To my surprise, I did not get any ELO points whatsoever. I do not feel it is appropriate to give the link to the game as it would reveal the user's username, but if any moderator asks me I can give them the link to the game. Anyways, there might be a reason for this, but I don't find it very fair the way I see it.

If under 4 moves, Rating is not affected. Is it under 4 moves ?

That's it. It has nothing to do with the closed account, the number of moves isn't high enough.

Games of less than 4 moves are not rated on timeouts.

You have to play at least five moves to score ...

Wait so what if somebody resigns right after an opening trap?

Bad luck ...

I once won in a thematic, that started after move 5, in 9 moves ... Even then: No points .... (no bug, no mistake, the five-moves-to-score applies to moves made, not pre-defined moves in a thematic ...)

Had my opponent not given up after move 9, and let me mate him, I would have received the points ...

That is quite bad luck

I think this isn't so good idea because players may misuse it.
