I don't get it Dave, what does white have after the sac? After 16. Ng4 black takes it and gives up his useful Queen's bishop and allows white's Queen to join the action or leaves the knight attacking both f6 and h6.

it looked like a useful sacrifice during the game. My opponant had a good attack, or it looked that way. I was worried about 17. Qg6 and the potential to get his queen in on h7 and then h8. As it transpired my opponant allowed me to stay in front. I would have looked at taking the knight with my black squared bishop, if he had left it on e5. This would have doubled his pawns on the e file and I'm pretty sure I would have gained a pawn later on. 16.Ng4 would have been followed with Bg5 for black starting the pressure on the weak pawn on e3.
