📅 Timeline & Sign-Up
Sign-Up Period: Opens at 00:00 (UTC +00:00), Jun 7th, 2025, and closes in 7 days at 23:59.
Forum Lock: Exactly 7 days after today, this thread will be locked—no further entries will be accepted.
Tournament Start: Jun 15th, immediately following the lock.
🔍 How It Works
1. Joining
To enter, simply reply to this thread with "@[your username]" before the deadline.
Only replies before the lock count as valid entries.
2. Pairings & Scheduling
Once the tournament begins, organizers will assign each player an opponent for Round 1.
Each pairing must schedule and complete their match within 2 days of notification.
If you need more time, request a one-time extension in the pairing announcement post—approval is at the organizers’ discretion.
3. Spectators
Every match should either include at least one fellow member as a spectator or being mutually agreed by both players. Spectators should comment or react to the game link to confirm attendance.
4. Result Reporting
After your game, post the full game link and the final score in the “2025 Warui-shogi Amateur Cup - Game Results” thread that we’ll create once play begins.
Only properly formatted result posts will be counted toward advancement.
5. Advancement & Pairings
After each round’s deadline, organizers will:
Update club ratings based on game outcomes.
Announce pairings for the next round in a new post.
There will be either ... or ... rounds in the tournament (depending on entries).
6. Finals & Awards
After the last round, we’ll post a final announcement naming the first and second finisher.
Prizes (cheers, club's positions) will be distributed shortly thereafter.
