People ****ing see ALL admins as the source of this. There's a hierarchy behind this whole thing and it went from the top down. Staff said that 4PC developers shouldn't just be developing 4PC and 4PC variants and that it's not fair to the 2PC community that 2PC variants weren't a thing on chess.com when the 4PC developers worked the extra mile to keep the 4PC community happy during the 2019-2020 time. Unfortunately, the Developers sucked up to what the staff wanted, that being the Variants project. Most 4PC admins even at the time were volunteers and had to suck up to what the paid Devs said, even when they had clear opinions. And a lot of us on the then-admin-team definitely had questionable at best opinions, myself included, but did I, Luke, ultimately want this??? BY NO MEANS.
If Chess.com wanted to develop 2 Player Variants, they should've hired a separate team to do so, instead of ruining 4 Player Chess for the rest of us. They spent $2 Million on hardware upgrades, but spend nearly $0 on Variants.
