The percentage of games completed in the last 90 days that ended in the player losing on time. The site changed the policy from counting timeouts forever. Some accounts could not be fixed in a reasonable time. Completing many games hardly affected the timeout %. Likely there were a lot of replacement accounts. Now timeout % can skyrocket for reliable players. The difference is reliable players can return to good status in 90 days.
The timeout % is hidden from prospective registrants. If it is different from the default 10% a TD should include this in the description.
Timeout % increasing when the player has not timed out recently?
Non-timeout games fall out of the 90 day window, leaving a relatively larger group of timed out games that all happened at once.
For established players, the non-timeout decisions that fall out of the 90 day window have to be replaced. Then more non-timeout decisions have to be added to reduce the percentage.
In practice only very new players, with few games, can play their way out of a high timeout percentage. Finishing a game is not countered by a non-timeout game falling out of the 90 day window. Usually players just have to wait out the 90 days for the timed out games to fall out of the calculation.
Strong Personal Preference: The default 10% is left unchanged.
Players time out, there has to be some leeway or few would be eligible to register.
Tip: If you want to attract people with a timeout percentage exceeding 10%, include this information in the title.
