A Deadly Duel

Idea for variant:

5x5 board, all corner squares missing. Knight spawns in the middle of the bottom of the board. Knights move normally, but can be checked/mated. You are allowed to move into check. First to capture opponent's knight wins. Any comments?

Seriously, knights, why not bishops. And that it spawns in the corner of the board and that we can choose which colour bishop
