As a Caro-Kann player, I appreciate the analysis and model gameplay. This is how I wish all games against the Panov would go lol.

Yeah, except people who play the panov know their theory! (Most people at my level play the classical ):

Really? When people play the Panov against me, they usually run out of theory quickly. For instance, after 1. e4, c6; 2. d4, d5; 3. exd5, cxd5; 4. c4, Nf6; 5. Nc3, g6; 6. Qb3, Bg7; cxd5. I know theory for the next 6 or more moves after this; generally, my opponents do not. It might just be that they are weaker (I’m only 2000 Rapid after all, which is not Master level).

That might be the case. It might just be I don't study the panov because it's not played too often. I haven't faced the exchange in an OTB game since last summer. Yeah so when they do it, they are usually prepared, or I am not lol. You are right 😆

I see the advance more than anything else, but I have curiously seen more of these Accelerated Panov attacks since I crossed 1800.

Yeah, but what’s good is that even if you go Qxd5 instead, you have an obvious plan and a way to win, which they might not have if you defend well.
