Have you actually seen any comments that were deleted? I feel like* most of the deleted comments are actually unrelated, like when people correct each other's spelling and call each other idiots (real example). Saying a position is "cool" is fine, but sometimes people will criticize positions they know nothing about, which spawns pointless arguments which get deleted.
*Note: I haven't seen many deleted comments either. Where have they gone? Were they... deleted maybe?
Comments which do not follow the forum rules, can be, have been, and will continue to be deleted.
That's why the rules are there in the first place XD.
If you're showing support, that's great! The reason we do this in a forum format is for precisely that reason. We want you to explore these games and provide feedback. If you like a position, tell the creator specifically what it is about the position you like. However, simply taking a look at the screenshot and saying "+1" doesn't relay any useful feedback. You have the opportunity to make the custom-game-scape a better place by telling someone that an idea he's using is unique or sharp, or boring, or... whatever! Just make sure the creators know what about their positions you like, instead of just affirming that you find the screenshot aesthetically pleasing.
Ok, thank you for telling me why. I just know there might have been one or two times where I posted a useful comment telling the creator what I liked and it got deleted. I try not to make my comments useless.

Please don't get mad about this. I need to say some things that a lot of people want to say.
I've noticed recently that every time the community comments on a new position you delete lots of comments that apparently have "nothing to do with the conversation."
However, this is not necessarily true.
Sometimes me and other people will say "hey, that looks cool," or "nice game!" I don't see why this needs to be deleted. We are telling people that they did a good job and we are interested in playing. We're trying to encourage people and be uplifting, why does it need to be deleted?
People like receiving compliments and an empty forum on a custom position they make will make them sad and feel like nobody cares about them.
We're just trying to show support...
