A "Perfect" Atomic Player: a dumb question

Over the past few weeks, I've been taking a deep dive into Nf3 e3, and as I keep researching, the more I find how relatively "easy" it is to win by force as white by simply knowing a few lines from the opening.

What I hope to bring to the post is a thought experiment. If there existed such a player that was able to win 100% of his games in Atomic as white by exclusively playing Nf3 e3, while still maintaining excellent knowledge of black, how far would you think their rating would climb or what would public reactions be to the player?

lutobida

way too many possibilities

im going to assume u mean chess.com since here and lichess are pretty different and u posted the question here

for how high the rating would climb that totally depends on how much said person wants to climb and if theyre allowed to

for example any top player around supercoolguys skill level could have reached 3000 if they really wanted to and didnt have any restricting circumstances

someone with the restricting circumstances is tla since they could totally do it if they could but are in a ban loop so they get banned before theyre able to

honestly i think most ppl would get bored before reaching 3000 so i say climb max would be 2800-3100 but yea like i said it depends on the person since if they felt like it they would totally be able to overshoot or not reach the expectation at all

for public reactions i think ppl wouldnt want to play them ever unless its someone that looks up to them and wants to try beating them

having a player like this would probably ruin the game

the newer generations would watch that player and copy them and nf3 e3 will eventually become one of the only openings ever played

top players would get annoyed and leave if literally everyones playing nf3 e3 (its already starting to be a problem here)

it just wouldnt be as fun if they influenced everyone to do it

the only ways i can think of to stop nf3 e3 spreading if that player did exist is to either encourage players to not play nf3 e3, somehow not let the players watch their games which is pretty much impossible or somehow get them to discourage others from playing it but that wouldnt make sense since if they play it then they must think the opening is good right??

but yea i dont think a person like this existing would be good for the atomic community

I don't really understand how supercoolguy was able to reach 3000. I know his lichess account, and we have the same peak rating, with his current rating being not too dissimilar to mine (though currently I am rated a bit lower). I feel as though I am not underrated on chess.com, as I have been hovering at around the 2530-2580 range for a while, but this is quite a bit lower than 3000.

I see, that makes sense, I didn't account for how drastic rating inflation could've been. I only started playing on chess.com a few months ago, when in my opinion rating was even more deflated than it was now (I ended up being stuck in the 2100-2300 range on chess.com for some time, while I was mid 2300s on my lichess account).

johannfan

What was your general strategy as black?

johannfan

Did you play similarly on lichess?

Alright, thanks for answering all my questions.
