In March, on Thursday 27, 8 arenas will take place, and winning one arena allows you to earn 100$ and qualify for the next round. On Friday 28, the 8 qualified players play a tournament to crown the winner. In total, the cash prize is 2000$. Get ready! Who'll be there to play? EDIT: fixed the date

https://www.chess.com/member/Will-Kael I played against this 1800 player and was impressed by his moves and insight after only less than 100 games of atomic chess. I checked and there is nobody of that name on lichess. After reviewing both games I played, every single move he made was an engine move. I also watched him play games against other players and they were also 100% engine moves. He also has a 100% winrate (even playing black!). I have concluded that he is cheating.

Hey All, I quickly made a website to convert chess.com PGNs into Lichess PGNs. Link below: https://atomic-pgn.static.domains/ I'll quickly go over some functionality. The paste button is used to paste in your copied material, whereas the copy button is used to copy the converted PGN. For quick converting, just click the arrow in the beginning once.  To use the PGN, create an Atomic Study if you haven't already. Then, create a new chapter and click the PGN tab. Paste in your converted PGN. Then, you can click the "graph" logo and hit request a computer analysis. (4th from the right from the below photo) LMK if there are any PGN's it happens to fail at, or if the website even works (:(also, if anyone knows how to automatically import PGN into Lichess study from a website)
https://www.chess.com/member/GannetStyle A new atomic player joined today, and they have been beating some strong atomic players and gaining a lot of rating. However, they seem to be proficient in bullet and hyperbullet, so I don't know if they're a cheater or not. This is simply a warning to keep an eye out for them in case they seem suspicious.

https://www.chess.com/member/qldurtmsss joined today and is already #7 on the ranklist. After 166 games. Seems legit.
I'm 13 year old now. I wanted to know how old atomic players are, so I make a survey. Maybe I'm the youngest here, or someone is younger than me.

I think it is about time I contribute something to the forums...Atomic at a high level is fun however it proposes a few problems. The main problem in my opinion would be.1. Unlike regular chess where the game is equal (Slight advantage to white due to the first move tempo) But in Atomic Chess (White has a much larger Advantage) and at high level it is near to impossible for Black to win.I have for a long time proposed the idea that atomic chess (at least competitively) Should force Designated (Equal) Openings (Openings that are decided before a game and forced to be played out). This way the results are more uncertain, and it can be harder for a high-level player to prep for a tournament. Meaning it's more skill than Theory knowledge. If asked I can go into more depth in another forum post explaining how tournaments formats would likely change due to the rule (If it were implemented) and what opening moves would be used and so on.Here would be my Example of a Designated opening.1. b3 (Clearly white is now at a large disadvantage after e5 or Nf6) Stock fish rates this -2.0 for whiteBut now let us say the Designated Opening Rule is used.1. b3 b62. c4 c53. d4 d54. g3 Nf65. f3 After white makes their 5th turn (Forced) Then black will get to freestyle from here on out. This position will never be reach by a player higher than 2000+ in any normal circumstances, Yet the position is equal. According To Lichess Database this position has never been reached before (Due to e5 and Nf6) ...Like I said if asked I would elaborate more on another forum post, but I am keen to know your thoughts on this.

hey guys i had an idea for a community game thats pretty much taken from gothamchess but its atomic now what if we send the moves of games and the others try to guess the elo of both players?? make sure its either 3+2, 5+0 or 1+7 (mrgtts time control) just so that its a fair amount of time for the players to think try not to send games that look fake (like rating manipulation games) or are less than 10 moves and have fun

I've started work on a documented list of possible ways to defend against 1. Nf3 2. e3, as it seems to be the main reason I lose as well as why many people dislike atomic. However, while documenting, I came across many different variations varying from extremely popular to weirdly niche. I wanted to cover at least all the mainline or gambits to have people covered, but it seems like that will take several ages. So, I wanted to know at least what were your top picks for the opening. In this position (white to play), what would you do?

not too long ago izyuu got banned from chess.com and got their atomic blitz whiped on chess.com. The following is the story of how it all happent it all started about may 25 when i was looking into some old games were i gained alot of elo, i knew my higest elo gain was agenst izyuu so i looked for maches between us and i found it, but i also found myself beating izyuu while she was a 1900. That got me thinking, how fast did she become a top 2 atomic player. And so i did some digging and made a grath over her elo over time. as you can see her atomic rating is normal, until it spikes and she gets 400 elo in about 2 weeks, whitch is extremely suspicious. This should not be pauseble but here it was. When i saw this i immediately knew something was not right and i began asking around the comunity. I got opinons fron: caavt, eagle on high, lutobida, znightmare and wyvy. We all agreed that something was not quite right and as eagle said "trust, but verify.". With this i asked izyuu herslef and she said that she agreed it looked sus and explaied with the following"ok i'll explain LOLso basically what happened is i was playing on and off and then pulled a caavtand i think i played around 1000 games in like three days while i was traveling for collegei was SUPERRRR active around then and started playing on filter lolsorry i had to adjust my voice settings bc typing too loud lolbasically lichess is where my school practicesbc i play on a chess team for normal chessso i played on lichess for nearly the entire time" she then offered to play me and explain her moves and why she played them to me. However cuz of the fact she was super bussy with a trip and our timezones were so different we never ended up playing those maches, but i stil got a secret mach with her. Wyvy and i were in VC and they played some games agenst izyuu, those games were very sus. In those games izyuu played top engine moves almost the entire time. Even the opning was very slow and she claims to have memorized the first 8 moves of nf3(whitch was played by wyvy) and she stil took 3-5 secounds every move. When it went off she stil took the samme anount of time with perfect acctursy. If you analyze the games you have to keep in mind the time she used, cuz some moves she used 3 sec of time before making the moves, but after analizying for 5 sec the engine gave a difrant move. this lead to even more suspision from me after seening those games. With all of this evidence I went to a staff member that eagle on high recommended. After messaging the staff member they gave a replied saying they have contacted a admin which then leads us to today. There is even more to the story but this is already long so u can ask me for more info. The graph below is of izyuu’s HIGHEST elo and x is days. The reason why some of it is in - is cuz that’s when I think izyuu is legit.

While I was playing atomic, I found lots of openings. One of them is nf3 e3. But I don't know which best nf3 e3 counter. Many move d5 and e6. I always move e6 because I think it can withstand the queen's attack. Additionally, if moving d5, black can lose both queen and knight. But I'm confused as to why so many people move d5 even though they risk losing some of their pieces. So is d5 a good counter? And which one is better? d5, e6, or is there something better?
johannfan Jul 3, 2024
hi guys how do you play (as black) in a position after nf3,f6 e3,e6 i dont know why but i usually struggle a bit to play that as black or white so i want to know how you play it
lutobida Jul 3, 2024
Hi I wanted to ask what black could do in this position and also if e5 was better than e6 (because I think it was). What could have happened if black did e5 instead??
