A Proposal

So I have already asked about under-18s being moderators (my dream job), so I have a proposal.

There are more kids online all the time than adults. Why not take advantage of that?

I propose that there be a new role called a moderator helper. I do not know exactly what powers a moderator gets. I assume they can mute and delete stuff, but adults have real jobs because moderators do not get paid. They can have people who are trustworthy and pass tests have a stronger communication with staff.

People like me are on chess.com social side 3-4 hours a day! I see so much stuff that gets ignored. This is a problem thats needs dealing with. SO that way chess.com doesnt get in trouble legaly, we can say that your not telling us to look for bad things but IF we see something we can report it and it will get special attention. We also get a label in our account 😏.

I do not think we should get more powers because i feel like kids will take advantage of this.

This is soemthing that should be giving to surtain people. Who pass TESTS. It should also me made notice that it is not illegal in anyway as long as the minor doesnt SIGN ANYTHING and doesnt get paid!

Isn't illegal to hire people under 18 to do these kind of jobs?

Moderators already don't get paid.

What!?

Well as far as i know in most countries in the world you have to be at least 16 to work and help a company in any way by giving the work force

Then maybe instead of 18+ maybe 16+, anyways, i'll be too young to moderate either way

I agree with your proposal! There are countless things that are either ignored, not seen by mods, or both! Trolls are a huge problem, and I'm sure there are other issues that could be reduced significantly if Chess.com allowed this sort of approach.

Chess.com wont allow it, they may face legal issues for it

All members can still use the report and downvote options on web. That said, a lot of gets reported has nothing wrong with it

Yes but TRUSTED individuals get special attention to their reporting!

You can't convince people yourself that you can be trusted, you gotta earn it

The same test that getts moderators their role will be used

There isn't a test as far as I'm aware.

#18 There would be some way to make sure the moderators can be trusted?

That's where the ability to have moderators able to agree to contracts is important.
