Just played a game...Chrome works just fine for me.
Abandonment
A couple of days ago I couldn't get windows 11 to work - although Windows 10 was working.
Solved it by updating all 'drivers' using a freeware program called DriverBooster.
Uninstalled it after.
Regarding fixing chrome there's various angles.
By the way DriverBooster has two additional programs to help with chrome too.
One is called Boost and the other Optimize.
After using them my browser and computer were going lickety-split - if you know that term.
Never saw them so fast.
Usually when you improve your browser a lot - its the sum of a whole bunch of things that does that.
But the DriverBooster speedup was dramatic with both Windows 11 and with Windows 10 that I have on another partition of the SSD drive.
Including speeding up chrome. Directly relevant.
How come chrome wouldn't work when I start a game in chesscom. I'm drowning in abandonment charge!
When you're deleting browser data on chrome - well they're sneaky.
You need to adjust the settings for both 'basic' and 'advanced'.
Check all the boxes. Which means scrolling down to see and check the unchecked boxes too.
And then delete.
The good news: That stuff is all in the same place.
But then even that doesn't mean all the cache gets nailed.
In chrome settings I disable just about everything.
Because 90% of them are slowing it down.
There's another fix. But its work.
Download the latest chrome exe.
Then uninstall. Then do clean reinstall of chrome using the exe.
That's one millionth of the work of clean reinstall of windows.
Bad news 1: Your uninstaller needs to get all the old traces - otherwise they'll carry over.
Bad news 2: Its work and takes time to go through the new browser settings to turn off all the useless junk chrome has running. Just like windows.
But there's this thing called ... results.![]()
