Achievements - "Challenger" Wow! You joined 100 tournaments!

I have contacted support regarding this question and the response I received was "It seems that the way I’m reporting these doesn't seem to be returning a response to me."  This is why I am asking here, to hopefully get feedback from the chess.com community.

In order to get the above noted achievement you have to have joined 100 tournaments.  Currently I have accumulated a total of 86 trophies from various tournaments.  I believe I must have surpassed playing 100 tournaments by now, as I joined the site in 2009 (10 years ago in July).

I am unsure whether or not retroactive tournaments played count towards the 100 total?  I believe they should because you have participated in the games.  I believe the "achievement badges" were introduced after I completed a lot of tournaments.  This might be why it's not showing up?

Support staff, whenever you have time, could you please take a look?

I think it is because you played some before they were introduced. Had to do that for 3 check too.

@amrugg  I think that is the case, unfortunately.  They should be retroactive and count towards past games played.  Or else, you're essentially being penalized because you've been using the site longer than other players.

Of course, now it really won't matter, because most likely the only new achievements will be for new features.

@amrugg  I understand what you mean, but the achievements should be retroactive and include your past games. 

For example, I've played 18,130 Bullet games, which got me the achievement below.  I have been using this site on/off since 2009 (10 years this July).  If I played that many games in such a short time frame (example 1 year) I would have to play 666 games per month and 22 per day on average for an entire year.

There is absolutely no way I have played 8,000+ live games in the past 1-2 years, since chess.com has created the achievements.  So the only explanation is my past games counted towards this achievement.

Hmm... I don't know, but maybe the site is working on this issue, and fixed this first. Or maybe they used to be working on it, fixed that and a few others, and then stopped...

@amrugg  I'll wait to see what support staff have to say.  As I mentioned in the original post, I did contact support staff through the site, but wasn't able to resolve.

I think you might have to play another game and it will count all of your games? I think this might of happened for my "3 Check" award.

@GoldenDegree  Ok.  Thanks for letting me know.  I have played multiple tournaments lately and still have not resolved this issue.  Hopefully it will get fixed soon.

When possible we used retroactive data; but its wasn't always possible. So that can lead to some cases where you got an achievement either partially or fully based on effort from before we released acheivements and some of them sadly had to fully achieved after we released achievments. 

@jdcannon  That explanation makes perfect sense.  I guess I shall "put the pedal to the metal" and play lots of tournaments!
