Interesting, (although active in the club as far as Munster is concerned anyway), ie those that play in matches, would be around 30-40. But that is probably the same in all teams.

They all should be able to easily do a 5 board minimum.

Cheshire regularly struggles with minimums

Team Dorset at the very most only registered 16 players for Open matches, given that we only have 6 players over 1600 every match against larger teams is not going to go well. This makes very interesting reading from that point of view , for example we have 27 active but no more than 16 play C.C matches, is this a problem that every team faces? The smaller teams are always going to be disadvantaged simply because we have a smaller pool of players.

Small teams can sometimes hold an advantage if their membership is largely made up of strong players. My team Munster struggle at the very top end and we don't have any regular over 2000s.  team Cheshire are a good example of a small high rated team. Munsters strength is in the middle order (1400-1800), and if we play a team like Cheshire we'll always struggle to match the top rated boards and are unable to get our middle order in in enough numbers to make a difference. Fair play to these small teams much respect to you.
