Add 15 seconds

Recently I noticed a button in my live games that says Add 15 sec to _______'s clock. You can see in my most recent game (today), one of my friends challenged me a 3 minute blitz, I accepted, and, well, decided to have some fun and gave my opponent about 53 minutes of time. Why do we have this button? Is it to be nice? And it should probably just be a one use button, right? Thx, Checkmatefun2018

Edit: WOW ok didn't expect that many people to respond.

I love this button, its great!! I even requested it tongue.png

When you play with friends for fun and the time is going out, I just add my friend 15 seconds, so we can continue playing. I can repeat it as often as I think its necessary.

For me, the perfect button thumbup.png thumbup.png thumbup.png trophies.png trophies.png trophies.png

I know, I was playing one of my friend a 30 min game and it had the give 15 sec to:______ and I gave him so many secs that he had 1 hour and he made me go up to 45 min. It could be an entertainer. LOL

I agree! sometimes you are playing a friend and they get low on time, but you don't want to just win on time, so you add 15 seconds so you can continue the game! After all, you could be in an unrated game in a critical position and not want to lose the learning opportunity!

Haha. But not only one use. Maybe a option to not accept it... Not that you would use it...

It can only be used in non-tournament games and its just for fun. you can use it as often or little as you like.

I think chess.com should apply this only in casual games because you wanted to play a live chess game as a fide game.

I never see this. Is it only in Beta?

So we can make a blitz game become a 1 hour game but still affect the blitz rating? happy.png

In theory, but if you wanted to manipulate your friends' blitz ratings there are way easier ways.

Like rated games change the rating of once which affect other's rating too. But in casual games it will not affect your rating and hence it will not effect other's rating.
