Advancing Libertarian Party in Government
Tim, I didn't know you were in this group. So you are libertarian? I was wondering if anyone would ever comment here, it seems that people have fallen asleep. I was hoping to get something going, like a chess match against another party.

It is between a rock and a hard place I am. My conservative friends will assume me a full liberal if I am not careful. My liberal friends are closed-minded enough to make me into a hardcore conservative by their definition. Many people are too ignorant to know what a libertarian is.

Wait. The idea that we could avoid most of the both economic regulation and social regulation? Foreign concept, it seems.
I come across as someone who hates the poor, because I advocate a decrease in social programs and government-run welfare. The reality is that I support many private organizations that do the same services, and I have faith in businesses to do the right thing, given the right innovations and incentives. Chosen compassion by the individual is more fulfilling than forced compassion by the government.
In the current two party system, we as Libertarians have a difficult time promoting our political agenda. One of the problems is that people will not vote Libertarian, knowing fully well that we will not likely win. A very workable solution in the election process (to promote third-parties) is to create a ballot on which voters specify a second choice. In this scenario, people who desire to vote Libertarian will know that in the event that their candidate is not one of the top two, they will then have their choice in a runoff election between the top two. I think I have explained this clearly enough. What are your thoughts?
