I agree that my c4 break was overly ambitious; and I was too quick to allow black white to trade on queens on b4, I should have done it on d2 to keep the b file open for continued pressure. The position was about equal, I should have adopted more of a wait and see attitude. I don't think white has any real pressure against black and would probably have to weaken his position to do anything active.

on 38. Rf5, I should have just played Rc8 controling my own back rank then combine attacks on the a pawn with advancing the b pawn which should probably win. Its funny how the brain works. This was my orginal plan... but then I started to look to see if there was  a way to defend the e pawn and save the bishop while looking at that junk I forgot about my bishop and just ended up defending the pawn.

Getting better!  (Hopefully)  before i had alot less knowladge on how to spot and handle inballances.   hopefully my rating will keep going up. (its a very slow process in gaining rating isnt it?)

They say in tournament chess it takes a year for the average youth player to get 100 pts!  That's slow I'd say.  Nice game!  I'll see if I can take a look a little later on.

sorry no comments, i still cant figure out this pgn file thing lol so most of my time goes into manually putting in the moves.   But ill put some in later if i have time.   I tried for some bold moves this game and it worked out well.

jdcannon

That was a pretty nice final combo you had there.

Just had a game against Swiel!  Hopefully this is pretty informative.   Also i would love some criticism on my side if possiable.   Im still trying to get good enough to break into the 1400s.  GG though Swiel :)   Welcom for a remach any time!

And thx JD :)  Tactics trainer on here gives me alot of crazy attacks like that.  too many in my opinnion.

Mr_Crow

Im inproving!   i have been getting alot better in spotting sacrifices, weather it turnes out to win a game or just get a positional gain.

heister

I agree, you are getting better at light speed.  It's fun to watch (and annoying to play against :p).  Starting around move 19 is where you really take the initiative and convert your queen side pawns into an advantage.  Starting at that moment, your opponent didn't have too many chances!

The move that makes the positional highlight reel though is move 25. a5!  I've put in a few ideas from move 26 below that seem to do better for black if he were to use his initiative to its potential and an alternative idea from move 26 for you in light of this.

Mr_Crow

Oh that would've sucked... I wasn't sure how to push through at that point.  What would have been some good options at that point?   Qa4?

heister

I was looking at Na4.  giving up the c5 square is difficult to handle so I added a knight there.

Mr_Crow

My best game against Heister!   alot more edicuational than you would think, but i did learn alot from this.

20. b3 was actually anticipating e5, blocking your a6 bishop out, and also making room for the c1 bishop, which didn't have a good home previously.  I was pretty proud of that one. (By anticipating e5, I mean that if we had played the same sequence as in the game without b3, your bishop could have come to c4 to put heavy pressure on the pawn I just put on d5).

I think I told you this, but there were several, "Oh CRAP" moments on my side as well.  The first exchange sac was not planned, but Qe3 was so bad that It became necessary.  I was fortunate that I could get a strong knight out of it (that you exchange sacrificed to get rid of).

Mr_Crow

Im pretty proud of this one.  The end proves that tactics trainer really works!   I always chose the wrong move in tactics trainer, snapping off a queen but then it responds "Why take the queen when you can just straight up win" (Or something close to that)

Im starting an online tournament soon and im really going to start making notes and analysing my games hardcore.  Hopefully i can find some of my week points and improve.

Mr_Crow

Here is a game i just played, What im really interested in is the position right after the opening, Im trying to take away his center with a f pawn break and i would like some imput on what you guys think of it.

heister

Here is a game I had a few minutes ago.  Analysis welcome!  Time control was 30 0, so it is action chess.

heister

I really thought I was going to win this one.  Turns out the opposite bishops made it really hard, and I should have gone for a Q v 2R middle game.

heister

ah crap.. it was put in as a puzzle.. hit the ? at the bottom to reveal the notes.
