Oh, while on the subject, it'd be nice if there was a convenient way to edit a position on the analysis board. It's possible to copy and then paste the FEN, but it's be neat to have a button that automatically puts the current position into edit mode.

I can't see to get the flashy bits, But if you have legal moves only checked I do get the check sound.

Oh, I don't even have all of those buttons, this is what mine looks like
When setting up a position on the analysis board, if the position is such that one side is in check, moving that side's pieces will result in the illegal move sound and the king flashing red. It seems misplaced as it's not analyzing moves but rather setting up a position.
