I don’t think they have any of those variants except for Chaturanga or Chaturaji on chess.com.

Ah well, now I have got what you mean.
The 'variant' available on Chessdotcom actually is the standard Shatranj, but in fact Chessdotcom calls it "Chaturanga". So I use the 3 terms Shatranj, Chaturanga and Ancient Chess, as synonymous because they can be intended as the same thing.
Chaturanga has several meanings, actually it may refer also to the ancient Chaturaji. It's a bit confusing I know, but it's also a bit off-topic here. There are other forum threads of the Club related to that matter.

The format might depend on the number of players. Normally I do prefer blitz 3'|3" single round-robin which means everyone plays everyone else once.

Ah okay. Well, let's say, I would like to close the registrations 1 or 2 days before the start (for having the time to organise). And I would like to have 6 or 8 participants, so I could decide to stop the registrations at a convenient moment.
@TheUltraTrap, I'll keep a spot open for you until the last moment and keep you informed on possible "hurry" situations.
I could play but it depends on the actual date that will be chosen.

Is this going to actually happen? No news for nearly two weeks.
Oh gosh, I worked all the day and forgot about it. Sorry, my apologies.
I'm being too busy until September, I work 7 days per week. I can't run any tournaments for now. 
Saturday 20 August at 4pm GMT (9am in Los Angeles, noon in New York, 6pm in Berlin, midnight in Beijing). Lasting for about 2 hours.
Who's in ??
The tournament will be played under the rules of Shatranj/Chaturanga. This is open to everyone, it doesn't matter the rating, it doesn't matter the geographical location neither.
