how come you always go up against trash talkers? i've gone up against one "russian troll" in the last six months and that's it
I think the only trash talker I've gone up against resigned on move 3, and then got banned lol

I think it’s my face.. it’s punchable.
also I feel like the level of trash talking at your level is definitely much lower than mine. It’s funny cuz I didn’t even say anything to this guy. He just started on his own. I think maybe sacrificing pieces gives them a false sense of hope and thus proceeds to be toxic muahahaha. U know how I luv my tactics. LEMMING GANG
Us in the 1300-1500 range are just good enough to be credible in our toxicity yet not good enough to get humbled. We are the people getting pinned in Levy’s videos xD
A year of no chess? How did you ever survive? lol (I imagine it was pretty easy and more of a relaxing break)
I've been playing chess actively this entire time. Well, less often probably, but still active. With my time since B&M activity dropped, I've been probably working on my chess YouTube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/@kesetokaiba/videos
or chess.com mod work: https://www.chess.com/blog/KeSetoKaiba/i-am-a-chess-com-mod-now
Like I mentioned, I still play chess actively, but probably less frequently compared to the B&M booming era.
Welcome back!!
Guys I've been busy with a death in the family, my uncle played golf 2 months ago and we buried him last weekend, he went down that fast with cancer. Been dealing with that and his estate. Although there have been some blessings along the way too.
Wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year. I doubt I'm on much over the next month. Have an entire house with stuff in it to deal with all by myself, no will and dealing with attorneys and stuff, its nuts.
You guys enjoy your time with your family and friends and don't take any of them for granted. This experience really shook me to my core. In many good ways.

Aw man, I’m terribly sorry to hear that. I’m glad you got to play golf with him, but I’m really sorry about his passing. Thank you for the advice and words, family is important and we must enjoy the time we have with them. I hope you are doing well and your family is holding in there this holiday
Hello B&M Family!!!
It’s been over a YEAR since I last played a rapid game. Maybe even longer! To be honest, it’s been over a year since I’ve played chess at all!
Rated just below 1400, I had little hope of winning my first game back. But the chess Gods smiled on me with this one. Just WOW! The amount of sacrifices in this game is astonishing. I was just trying to gain the advantage, and it seemed the clearest way was to move my pieces to his King side. When the opportunities arose to sac, well , if you know me … you know I love to sacrifice pieces for even the smallest advantage.
If you love tactics, this is a game for you. And it’s my first game of chess in over a year! I’m pretty happy with this one, so decided to take some time to analyze it and talk about my ideas and share here on Beginners and Masters!
what I love about this game is the tactics used at a lower level (1400~). I’m not the greatest player here by any means, but I’ve played against a lot of 1800+ and 2000+ players and even won a few times (if you know you know) because (in my best attempt to sound humble here) I understand mid game tactics a little better than the average 1300/1400/1500. However, my *theory* is weak, as I only know a few openings truly well enough to play them at a high level, therefore I hit somewhat of a “wall” advancing against higher ranked players in the 1700+ range. Yet, being able to grow my theory may prove to be the exact antidote I need to get my game past the 1600+ level finally once and for all.
Of course, the engine hates me and gave me a 52% accuracy. Let’s talk about why that is.
Oh, and this victory is especially sweet not only cuz it’s my first game back in a year, but because my opponent immediately started talking trash as soon as I sacrificed a piece. He kept saying “you lose” and sending emojis. Little did he know.. his toxicity was but a mirage
Also it’s good to be back on Chess.com and especially Beginners and Masters! I missed y’all!
