Ban Abusers
Hello Chess.com team, I’ve noticed you guys are not banning people for abuse as much anymore! Some users have so many reports, and must be banned, no below, in my beliefs. I know I probably shouldn’t be posting about this, and no one wants to read a long paragraph these days, so I’ll keep it short and brief. I don’t know why you just mute them, as they can still do many things. They deserve a much bigger punishment. Although they could be a good reason, I’ll send the details about some abusers I’ve encountered. (There’s a lot) They are probably abusing the fact they won’t get banned, as I saw one that was 2600 rapid and should be banned, as they probably don’t care about a mute as much. It' would really sting on them and make them sad. Abusers should learn the hard way.
Sorry for making a long paragraph, or posting in the wrong club.
to answer your question, i believe that some abusers are given a second chance, or already muted or warned, hence it seems that chess.com isnt doing anything but they are already doing the best they can. Also, we have to acknowledge that chess.com is a big site and we cannot always just ban all abusers. I hope this answers your question. P.s. Second chance meaning Account is reopened.
He dint get a second chance
yeah, it depends on the case and that they have to actively contact admin themselves

There’s no mute button on this website?
If you mean for members to use, no.
You can set what you follow and your alerts.

No doubt, repeated offenders have no place on chess.com and should stay banned, the duration of the ban for sure depends on the type of offence.
Secondly, the site ensures a second chance policy, for non-repeated offenders.
Therefore, those who have violated the rules once get a second chance account.
BUT:
You are absolutely right, continuous harassment leads to a toxic environment and neither promotes the platform nor the sport itself. Hence, it is of upmost importance to keep things friendly.
Greetings and thanks for you laying out your thoughts!
(Maybe keep in mind that the Beta Forum might not be the right place to make a topic about “abusers”…)
