Biblical & Scientific Reasons why the Fossil Record is not due to Noah's Flood

Here are some charts showing the O16/O18 ratios showing climate changes. I am putting them in order to from simple charts to more intricate ones. They are pretty much self explanatory to me but if you have any questions just ask and I will try to explain.

If all record of the Biblical flood were to be erased and utterly lost from human memory, is it conceivable that a careful examination of rock strata, and the fossils that exist within them, would ever lead someone to conclude that a global flood had taken place long ago?

That's to say, isn't it the case that the only reason believers in the flood go to such extreme lengths to make geological evidence fit their theory, is because they start with the fixed and dogmatic belief that a flood occurred in the first place?

Excellent pictures @wsswan!  I found them helpful for me, and I already know this stuff!  The evaporation-precipitation diagrams I find particularly helpful by making the whole concept far more intuitive for people: 16O is slightly lighter than 18O so it evaporates easier and gets locked up in glaciers (a picture's worth a thousand words).

Out of curiosity @wsswan do you have any diagrams you can post that show all of earth history, including the Precambrian?  I'm just curious to see if the data illustrate the Dim Sun Paradox.

Older sediments tend to have fossils that have been chemically changed. The original minerals in fossils with CaCO3 have the CaCO3 leached out and replaced with other minerals. This causes the data to become inconsistent and unreliable. The Cretaceous is where the data starts being unreliable.
