“Wolfgang emigrated from East Germany and settled in Toronto three years ago. Wolfgang, who barely spoke English, was determined to earn enough money to send for his wife. He was a baker by profession, and after two years of working two jobs, seven days a week, he finally owned his own store. Although his English was broken, he always had a good word, and a joke. One morning, a delivery man found Wolfgang lying on the floor of his bakery, dead. His right hand held a small gun. A letter and a suicide not lay nearby. “‘This is no suicide,’ declared Shadow. ‘This is murder.’ Why?”
