Bug???

I played a game against an IM and he resigned on the first move. (it was an arena) Does that work for title players? Or is it a bug? here is the game. https://www.chess.com/game/live/84825209801

Noo I don’t think so… I’m guessing he might have had to go somewhere and couldn’t play, so he resigned

but it was an arena and in an arena u can't resign until the 10th move

That is just disrespectfull from him. He should give the chanse to the lower rated oponnent. But it is not bug.

It's abandoned, but as it's an arena game, you can't abort it, like in normal games, so it would be considered an auto-resigned game, sometimes you might lose internet and lose the game, which has happened to me.

Yeah, but I've gotten back in and played more games, even if I lose some through internet.

If this was a internet cut down, it'd be considered abandoned game!
