Bug - Pasting Formatted Text

Problem

I've been having trouble pasting formatted text in forums. Looks fine if it's the forum topic, but comments don't maintain the proper spacing. (I've noticed at times this does work in comments, but it's rare). Usually, I'd make some edits after pasting before posting, but that isn't the problem, because this text was copied straight from the source and unchanged before posting.

This screenshot shows the problem:

Expected Result

The text I pasted in the comment above should maintain the correct spacing in both the comments and the original forum post.

Workaround

I've been having to replace the spaces with periods in order to correctly space the columns apart. This looks terrible, but at least it's readable as a table.

I suppose I could also just post a screenshot of the text as a comment, but then it's not interactive.

Are you spacing or tabbing. A Space Delimited File and a Tab Delimited file are two different formats.

Is this a recent issue that you have experienced, or has it been an ongoing thing?

@ZaneB3: It's like this already for months. Spaces and empty lines are suppressed, soft line feeds mostly don't work and it becomes more and more difficult showing some complex text somehow lisible. Thinks, which look still fine, like in Matthew's example, are "condensed" while posting.

If I prepare e.g. a blog post with an external program, some elements of formatting are taken into account and others are suppressed: This always creates suboptimal results, which regularly need to be readjusted. It's just one part of Chess.com's usual annoyance offer ...

It's been ongoing for a few months now. I just reported it now because I found out it works in the main post, so it must be a bug.
