Hi everyone!

After some feedback I have decided to start this tournament. It is a monthly tournament where you play bughouse chess with one partner throughout the tournament. If you're interested in joining, here is all you need to know:

1. Signups can be done in this forum or at the same time as reporting results for the first match. Using a team name is optional. Feel free to use this forum when looking for a partner.
2. Each match (one team versus another team) will be a best of 5 (first to 3 wins) with the time control 3|0
3. After each match the results must be reported in this forum with match score and name of all players.
4. Communications between teams in live chess will be done in the Bughouse chat room (for challenging other teams). Communication between partners within a team can be done with any tool, such as skype or private chat.
5. You may only have one match against the same team once each month. To get a match started there are three ways to do it:
   1. Find another team in live chess and just challenge them at any time
   2. Communicate with another team and schedule a match in advance
   3. Get into live chess during a special time where all teams are advised to enter live chess.
6. The special time where all teams go into live chess will be the third Saturday of each month at 10:00 ET (use this time zone converter to see what that is in your time zone). If that time does not fit you, feel free to make feedback, so the time can be improved for the future.

That is all you need to know. Below are some additional rules:

All teams start with 0 points.

After each match the winner will get 3 points, the loser gets 1 point.

Tie break will be the number of won games.

At the end of each month a winner will be declared and points will be reset for the next month.

Rules are subject to change. Feel free to ask questions or suggest improvements.

rule3- match score is simply the number of wins of each team? Excuse the dumb question here, I see some pointing system in bughouse, o just checking. 

In my book there are no dumb questions.

Rule 4 with the chat room is there to clarify how you find other teams in live chess. You may use tools like private chat or Skype to communicate within a team.

The match score can be either 3-2, 3-1 or 3-0 (number of wins for each team). The points earned though is 3 points for a won match and 1 point for a lost match regardless of the score. Number of won games for each team could become a tiebreaker.

Can I team with myself? (i.e., simuling)

I don't think I'd score particularly high against strong teams, but it's a nice experiment to improve my game.

No simuling in this tournament. I want it to be teams only. Also, there is no way to partner with yourself at the moment without a duplicate account. Even if some titled players are allowed to have duplicate accounts I certainly do not want to encourage something that generally is not allowed.

how do i join?

Once you have found a teammate (which agrees to team up with you) you sign up in this forum by typing you want to join with your teammate. You could also chose a team name if you want. Ideally I want confirmation from both members that they want to team up.

Can I join?

@sacthequeen, yes. Anyone can join. You just need to find a partner to sign up with.

I don't want to join just yet, but I'll watch it to see how it goes and maybe join in future.
