White to move.

TW

(Hint: this is the third and last time warning until move #40)

BattleChessGN18

Time warning has been called.

White has until tomorrow, January 15th, '25, 12pm noon (Pacific Standard Times), to state move; after which time, should no move be stated, Black can, at any time, claim victory by insufficient time.

Also, due to all three time warnings having been distributed within 40 moves, time warning will not be available again to White; until the 41st move.

Wfb

BattleChessGN18

I'm back, folks. So sorry for the wait! (Although, White and Black both were allowed to make one more pair of move before officially calling WFB. haha )

As can be seen from the rules https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess960-chess-variants/correspondence-chess-rules-for-variant-chess-proposal?page=6,

a WFB can only stop the time control after the second full move. This means that a player cannot constantly extend his time limits by excessive WFB requests. Nevertheless, after the moderation published the board, I waited 3 full days (that is, 5 days after my move) and still no move came from the opponent. Therefore, instead of a fourth time warning, I would now like to claim a win

Ok...

BattleChessGN18

Ah, regretfully, Black does have a point.

According to the rules set by the gamehost for this game, a contestant can officially call WFB after two pairs of moves (White-black-white-black) have been established. And, at this point, it is past 72 hours; with no more grace TW available; 40 moves has not yet occurred.

Black's claim of victory due to insufficient time is valid.

I'm sadly very disappointed this match had to end this way. Timeouts due to no-shows is never my favorite thing. After the tournament is over, the game will be revisited, and people will see that it wasn't finished. Very sad and discouraging.
