I think I've found a solution that makes editing boards easy to do with just word, google docs or even libre office (maybe even any text editors, I haven't tested). Basically you just download/copy this google drive document (https://docs.google.com/document/d/123G50rdaIbU8QtCPwjQxYEch9yWBgDbd/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=113385079186459877844&rtpof=true&sd=true) and you can then drag around the pieces. The advantages are that:
- It's fast and doesn't require skill, you just drag and drop stuff
- You don't need to run a .exe so very low risks of a virus
- You can use whatever tech you want, or even your browser (not sure if it's good on phones though)
How to use:
- click on/copy this link https://docs.google.com/document/d/123G50rdaIbU8QtCPwjQxYEch9yWBgDbd/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=113385079186459877844&rtpof=true&sd=true
- click on files>download>select .docx (or your editor of choice) OR files>copy to use in google drive
- Allow editing, drag pieces to the squares you want. You can use arrow keys to move it precisely in word
- If you want to add other common pieces copy the lower image then just use the crop tool to resize the image
For analysis you can move the piece and then just click ctrl+Z a few times to reach your original position
Sorry if the pieces are a bit off center, they're set up for word, I might edit that laterI'm proud of the idea and wanted to share the tool, not sure if it's really needed though. I know that I'm going to make use of it at the very least. Feedback is welcome and I could add new pieces if you post an image
