The game is to be played before Monday, December 9 of 2013 @ 00:00GMT. The players must use GMT in their conversation even if they both live in the same time zone. Here is a link to our Time Zone Converter. The deadline to offer three (3) time slots for the game OR to accept one of the other player's time slot offer is Wednesday, December 4 of 2013 @ 4:00GMT. It's certainly not a bad idea that the uninitiated player reads the Negotiation Samples below, as negotiating with the opponent must be done as shown. Also, see «The Rules» for more information on this topic. It is crucial that you check the «Tracking Comment» box here in order to be kept up to date about the status of your negotiation. With the same idea, please set your e-mail alerts accordingly. Note that the players are responsible to answer quickly when a new development occurs here. @ Somebodysson -- Some of your dates vs days don't match. Thursday is Dec 5, Friday is December 6 and Saturday is December 7. Please edit in order to avoid confusion. We assume that you speak GMT.

I can't figure out how to use the time zone converter. Is GMT the same as New York city time? 

@Somebodysson -- GMT = New-York time + 5.

In other words, you accepted to play @ 14:00 New-York time.

ok. there has to be a better way of getting these notices, becauseeven though I"m on chess.com all the time I just saw this now,  on Thursday evening 10 pm New York City time, and saw that my game is at 2 pm New YorkTime tomorrow, which is not convenient at all.

But I'm going to do it, because its too late to change the time, and I want to start in good standing with the league. So I'll see you tomorrow at 2 PM New York Time.

IF there is any way you can do it 3 hours later, that would be MUCH better. But if you can't I will honor the commitment. Thank you. 

@Somebodysson -- Your alert settings need to be adjusted. Get the «HOME» menu, click «ACCOUNT» and then click «MANAGE YOUR E-MAIL / ALERTS SETTINGS».

@zugzwang: what box am I supposed to tick in the emailalerts setting  to get email alerts to posts from this group? It looks like I can't set it for groups, so I don;'t understand. 

ok, it looks like we're not going to get this game played today. fastcache messged me that he's working. we need to find another time. I can play tomorrow, Sat Dec 7 at 2100GMT or 2200GMT or 2300GMT, or Sunday Dec 8 at 1500GMT or 1400GMT or 2200GMT.

But to get the notifications from this group or from SLCA, you need to get to the main page of the group and click on «Alerts» at the right of your screen. Then check «a new post is made to the Group Notes».

I can't make it all weekend, sorry.  I'll need to forfeit.  Just got this new job, so now I know my hours and can negotiate better.

@Somebodysson -- In fact I went wrong with the result of the game. «F» means forfeit. But you did not forfeit the game. So:

which means that you get the full point and your opponent, because of his loss by forfeit, gets 0 point.
