Paul mentions a shortage of players at Brighouse, true- but Catch 22!!
We have players showing interest(not first division).
How do we hold that interest? A second team? Catch 23???
If we raise a second division team, not enough newcomers and rules barring first teamers from filling the gaps,how many other teams have this problem?

Due to holidays Brighouse could only muster three players away to Halifax A (note to anyone looking for a club - you've an excellent chance of playing competitive chess if you join us at Brighouse). I guess we at Brighouse would rather be short against last year's champions than against our rivals further down the division.
Anyway, here's my game against Sam Scurfield, a somnambulent affair that was heading for an inevitable defeat for me until Sam allowed a well-known tactic then followed that up with an outright blunder. Chronic time-trouble on his part might well have made up his mind to call it a day there.
Anyway, Brighouse lost 3 and half to one and a half.
