This is a short guide for new admins, specifically for county clubs taking part in the County Championship.

Important

You must be a member of the CCCUKI group in order to receive:

  • announcements,
  • fixtures,
  • league tables,
  • and multiplayer violation notifications.

CCCUKI Competitions

There are currently four competitions in the CCCUKI calendar:

Full League

Open to players of all ratings.

This is the main CCCUKI competition and usually runs from December through to August each year.

Rounds are generally spaced every 28 days.

Knockout Cup

Also open to all ratings.

This is a separate knockout competition which runs concurrently with the main league season.

New rounds are created once both teams have progressed from the previous round.

Under 1600 Competition

Restricted to players rated below 1600.

League format.

Under 1300 Competition

Restricted to players rated below 1300.

League format.

Announcements & Fixtures

As an admin, you will need to monitor round announcements carefully.

You should normally receive notifications in your Chess.com mailbox. Alternatively, announcements can be accessed directly through the CCCUKI group page menu.

Inside each announcement you will find:

  • fixtures,
  • match parameters,
  • minimum player requirements,
  • and start dates/times.

Setting Up Matches

Below is a quick guide originally posted by TMCL TD @stephen_33 and adapted for CCCUKI.

  10. Under Players Per Club, enter the minimum number required for your division in the Min box.
  11. Disable AutoStart
  • This is enabled by default and should be switched off, but should not effect the match start if no upper player numbers are specified.
  1. Once everything has been checked carefully, click Create.

Method 2 – Creating Matches Directly from the Opponent Club Page

  • Click the team link in the CCCUKI announcement.
  • On the opponent’s club page, click Challenge.
  • Scroll down and select Daily Match.
  • Fill in the relevant match details as above.
  • Enter the match title manually.
    • Note: club names are not automatically inserted.
  • Check:
    • Standard Chess
    • 3 days per move
  • Enter the correct start date and time.
    • Again, ensure the minutes field is set to 00.
  • Enter any relevant rating restrictions.
  • Enter the minimum player requirement for your division.
  • Disable AutoStart.
  • Once satisfied everything is correct, click Create.

After the Match Is Created

Once the match has been set up, admins should monitor player numbers to ensure the minimum team requirement is reached.

Teams are encouraged to strengthen participation by:

  • posting club announcements,
  • sending personal invitations/messages,
  • and actively recruiting players.

This is fully permitted within CCCUKI rules and is commonly used by the more competitive teams.

Active communication and recruitment can make a significant difference to both participation levels and team success.
