Good debate T! I actually wish Chess.com would take away the analysis tool until after the game is over. But since it's there I use it because I know my opponent is using it and I can't assume he or she isn't that would put me at a disadvantage. If I'm playing multiple players I definitely use it. If I am just playing one player which is rare I refrain from using it because i want to develop my chess vision. If I'm playing live I don't even think its available and if it was you wouldn't have time to use it lol. So I somewhat agree with you. Maybe chess.com can get rid of it in the future.
Reviewing arguments on both sides. I know that I have a bias. Personally, I believe on the development of calculation and sight analysis. My opponents are playing my at my very worst or best. I'm just waking, or sleepy. I could've had some drinks, or a headache. Am I sipping coffee, or am I on a runner's high after a morning jog.. When I have the feeling I've played someone and they may have used the "tool", I feel cheated. As if we were never on the same footing... I do get the logic, I understand it's considered fair play by the website... Still, I play on another app where you can offer your challenges sans the "tool", and there at least to a degree I feel well playing a fair one... But my standards...
What say you??
