Beginning this Sunday castlers who would like to take part in the weekly rapid and or blitz tournament will alert Eledef07 (me). I will then text you your opponents for the week on Sundays at 6pm eastern standard time. Each player will play one another 4 times (twice as white and twice as black in blitz) and 2 times in rapid (once as white and once as black in rapid). The time control must be 5 minutes no increment with blitz and 15 minutes with a 10 second increment for rapid games. Please send me the results of the games so I can record them (if I did not receive your link showing me your win it will not count and your point won’t count for the week). At the end of the week whoever has the most points wins the weekly tournament. All games are rated. Do not play non rated blitz or rapid games please. Once you have received the players you are supposed to play, you must begin playing them at anytime from Monday 12 midnight eastern standard time to Sunday 12 midnight eastern standard time ( which completes the play week). Any games completed after Sunday 12 midnight eastern standard time will not count for that play week. If a player has not played you get in touch with me and I will remind the opponent , if that player still has not played you and Sunday midnight eastern standard time has passed then the player that alerted me of the evasive opponent gets the point. I’m doing this as a substitute for the weekly Friday night and Saturday night tournaments because sometimes we do not have enough players to join and the tournament gets canceled. With this format CASTLERS can play on their own time frame and we can include the European, South American and African players in our club 😊
Reviewing arguments on both sides. I know that I have a bias. Personally, I believe on the development of calculation and sight analysis. My opponents are playing my at my very worst or best. I'm just waking, or sleepy. I could've had some drinks, or a headache. Am I sipping coffee, or am I on a runner's high after a morning jog.. When I have the feeling I've played someone and they may have used the "tool", I feel cheated. As if we were never on the same footing... I do get the logic, I understand it's considered fair play by the website... Still, I play on another app where you can offer your challenges sans the "tool", and there at least to a degree I feel well playing a fair one... But my standards... What say you?? https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/using-an-analysis-board-during-turn-based-games-good-or-bad
47 Members is respectable! Unfortunately we don't have the luxury to meet and play one another face to face. Still I'd like to Build a kinship and friendly rivalry with my fellow Castlers! Here's a game I snooped, Featuring PADDLEMAN59 and his dancing ROOK VICTORY!! Paddleman59 Joined LC Jan 2021. I look forward to future exchanges across the 64!!
